Ichirakutei Eisui or Eisui as often referred to, was a ukiyo-e artist active between the years 1790 and 1823. He was one of the most talented students of Eishi, who had about 30 students. Eisui produced many portraits of okubi type-e, that is to say, a portrait in the ukiyo-e genre showing only the head or the head and upper torso where the black hair of women form a dark mass of a strong impact graph. In this sense, it can be considered as one of the likenesses of Utamaro.
