Comments: Kuniyoshi’s Heroes of Suikoden series is one of the most outstanding series ever created by this artist. The Chinese epic “108 Heroes of the Popular Suikoden All Told” is illustrated by Kuniyoshi where he depicts 75 of the 108 Chinese Heroes. Military Captian Rotasu kills a butcher who has abused his ( the Butcher’s) mistress and flees from authorities and flees to a monastery and is given the monk’s name of Kaosho Rochishin. He finds it difficult to be a monk and becomes an inebriated brute and thief. In this scene Kaosho has accompanied his friend Rinchu to his place of exhale and the monk cuts a tree in two with one fell swoop and threatens to do the same with Rinchu’s guards if they do not take good care of Rinchu.
